Tales from the train

Conversation between myself and a homeless man on the uptown E train subway platform:

Man: Excuse me, miss?
Me: Yes?
Man: (Holding up a can of Coke) Would you like to buy this refreshing beverage for only $1?
Me: No, thanks.
Man: (Looking confused) Are you sure? It's only $1 and that's a real bargain.
Me: No, thanks.
Man: (Opens the can, takes a sip, and holds it up again) How about $0.75?
