Quick Update

Back from Munich. Jet-lagged and coming down with another cold. Lugged camera equipment all the way to Germany and took only four pictures, all of them out of focus. Slept like ass last night. Up at the crack of dawn for a day in the Princeton office. Testing our company's disaster recovery process. Grateful for a short day today and the prospect of getting to bed early tonight. More to come.

Enough Already

Have you ever had one of those days when you know, beyond a shadow of a doubt, that everyone on the planet is conspiring to ruin your day? Me, too.

It's A Small Victory, But I'll Take It

Today was a particularly grueling day at work. When it was finally over, I threw on my iPod and, against my better judgment, took a chance on Shuffle Songs. I've had mixed results with this function thus far, but for the first time since I was given the damn thing, my iPod played every one of my favorite songs - in sequence! - for over an hour. It was exactly what I needed and I was grateful for every blessed minute. Steve Jobs, you are a genius.

Now if I could only get my credit card companies to stop trying to sell me identify theft protection every fucking day, life would be swell.

I Suck

I think I may have been overly ambitious, expecting to find time to post a blog entry every day when I haven't found time to post a single word in over three months. Never let it be said that I set realistic goals for myself.

It's November 4th and I've already missed two days of blog posts. To be fair, it wasn't as though I procrastinated and time just got away from me. I completely forgot about it until Eric asked me this morning "Hey, did you post something yesterday?" and I realized that (a) I hadn't posted anything yesterday OR the day before and (b) I need to find money in my monthly budget for a personal assistant to handle such tasks (among other things).

Eric is spending the afternoon at our nephew's football game (go Redskins!) and I'll be spending that time preparing for my trip to Munich. I bought a beautiful Calvin Klein suit yesterday, along with two shirts and a pair of black wedges. Tasks on today's to-do list include picking up dry cleaning, getting my hair done (so that it will be a single color in Germany vs. the brown-with-gray-streaks that I've been rocking for weeks), and deciding on what clothes to pack. Damn you, Proper Business Attire.

Yes I Am

It doesn't matter how long I live in this shit hole called New Jersey, New York will always be my home.
